As many of you know, after winning the Bernard Matthews Youth Award two years ago, I donated my prize money to fund and set up a 13 week introductary BSL course open to all members of the public. This was a massive success and I am very happy to say that after such positive feedback from the introductory course, Dereham Neatherd High School have decided to hold an after school BSL level 1 course which will begin in September! After seeing the success of the introductory course that I funded, Neatherd High School saw the importance of sign language and organised this level 1 course to take place. To see how my initial course that I funded can have such a positive impact is truly amazing and I can’t wait for this level 1 course to start! This is a great step in the right direction and I hope many other schools across the UK will do the same and recognise the importance of sign language.
